Would you like to add an AKC title at the end of your dog’s name?
The Canine Good Citizen’s test will be given Saturday, May 17th after judging at the show site. You will have the opportunity to practice the following skills on Friday night, along with snacks, drinks and fellow Labrador lovers!
The following skills will be tested (this can be found on the AKC’s website – click here):
- Accepting a friendly stranger
- Sitting politely for petting
- Appearance and grooming
- Out for a walk (walk on a loose leash)
- Walking through a crowd
- Sit and down on command and staying in place
- Coming when called
- Reaction to another dog
- Reaction to distraction
- Supervised separation
Once you pass the test, you can send in your paperwork to the AKC and then the official CGC title will be added to your dog’s name.
Cost: Free training Friday night …… $15.00 for the test on Saturday
